Apple Ginger Glazed Ham

A sweet and savory masterpiece of apple ginger glazed ham that brings families together during holidays, full of flavor and nostalgia.

  • 3/4 cup apple jelly
  • 3 tablespoons apple butter
  • 1 1/4 cups packed dark brown sugar (divided)
  • 1 tablespoon ground ginger
  • Pinch ground cloves
  • 2.5 lb ham
  • 2 cups apple juice or apple cider
  • 1 cup apple slices

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. Combine the apple jelly, apple butter, 1 cup of brown sugar, ground ginger, and cloves in a small saucepan. Heat over medium-low for about 10 minutes until syrupy and thick.
  3. Prepare your baking dish with non-stick spray. Score the ham.
  4. Place the ham in the baking dish, pouring apple juice over it. Arrange apple slices around it.
  5. Bake covered for 15 minutes.
  6. Pour 1/2 of the glaze over the ham, re-cover, and bake for another 15 minutes.
  7. Baste with pan juices and bake uncovered for an additional 10 minutes.
  8. Pour another 1/4 of the glaze over the ham and press remaining brown sugar into it.
  9. Continue baking until caramelized and internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
  10. Slice and serve with remaining glaze.

Notes

Don’t forget to baste regularly to keep the ham juicy. Leftovers are perfect for sandwiches!
