Deliciously Simple Cranberry Sauce

A fresh and flavorful cranberry sauce that elevates your holiday table with its perfect balance of sweet and tart.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh cranberries (or frozen; thaw before using)
  • ½ cup maple syrup (or honey for substitution)
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, combine cranberries, maple syrup, water, orange zest, and salt.
  2. Increase heat to bring the mixture to a simmer while stirring gently.
  3. Reduce heat to low and cook for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring frequently until cranberries burst and sauce thickens.
  4. Taste and adjust sweetness with more maple syrup or orange zest if desired.
  5. Let it cool slightly before serving warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. Can be made a week in advance and reheated before serving.
