  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can tomato sauce (15 oz)
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar

  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked, about 7-8 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add chopped onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic, cooking for an additional 5-7 minutes until vegetables are soft.
  4. Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, salt, black pepper, oregano, and sugar. Simmer for about 10 minutes.
  5. In a large bowl, mix the cooked elbow macaroni with the beef and sauce mixture.
  6. Pour half of the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle half of the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses on top.
  7. Layer the remaining macaroni mixture over the cheese, topping with the rest of the cheeses.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and the cheese is golden brown.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
