Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 fillets of white fish (cod, tilapia, or haddock)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large lemon (juice and zest)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients by patting the fish fillets dry and seasoning them with salt and pepper.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter and sauté the minced garlic for about 30 seconds.
  3. Place the fish fillets in the skillet and cook for 3–4 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Gently flip the fillets, add fresh lemon juice, and sprinkle lemon zest over the top. Cook for an additional 2–3 minutes while basting with the butter.
  5. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately with lemon wedges.

Notes

Choose high-quality ingredients for the best flavor; fresh, wild-caught fish is ideal. Olive oil can substitute for butter for a dairy-free version.
