Delightfully Crispy Air Fryer Apple Fries

A healthier, air-fried version of classic apple fries, crispy and cinnamon-spiced for a delightful snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith preferred)
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Nonstick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Peel (optional) and slice the apples into fry-like sticks about ¼ inch thick, then pat dry with a paper towel.
  2. Prepare three coating stations: Bowl 1 for flour, Bowl 2 for whisked egg and milk, Bowl 3 for panko breadcrumbs mixed with sugar and cinnamon.
  3. Dredge each apple stick in flour, then dip in egg mixture, and finally roll in panko mixture until fully coated.
  4. Lightly spray coated apple fries with nonstick cooking spray and arrange in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  5. Set air fryer to 380°F (190°C) and cook for 7–9 minutes, shaking basket halfway through.
  6. Serve warm with your choice of dipping sauce (caramel, yogurt, or whipped cream).

Notes

Keep an eye on fries during the last couple of minutes of cooking. Overcrowding can lead to uneven cooking; work in batches if needed.
