Air Fryer Teriyaki Chicken

A quick and delicious take on the classic teriyaki chicken, made easy in the air fryer.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup mirin
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried ginger

Instructions

  1. Trim the chicken thighs of any visible fat.
  2. Marinate the chicken in soy sauce, mirin, brown sugar, garlic powder, and ginger for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and spray the basket with cooking oil.
  4. Cook the chicken thighs for 15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  5. While the chicken cooks, bring the reserved marinade to a boil and simmer until thickened.
  6. Brush the chicken with teriyaki sauce and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  7. Serve with extra teriyaki sauce, sesame seeds, and green onions.

Notes

For extra crispy chicken, let the thighs rest before serving. Marinating overnight enhances the flavor.
