Amish Christmas Jam

A delightful blend of strawberries and peaches that captures the essence of homemade goodness, perfect for the holidays and year-round enjoyment.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups strawberries, hulled and mashed
  • 4 cups peaches, peeled and chopped
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 package (1.75 oz) fruit pectin

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the strawberries and peaches. Use a potato masher to crush the fruit just enough to break them down, but leave some chunky bits for texture.
  2. Stir in the sugar and lemon juice, mixing well. Let the mixture sit for about 10 minutes.
  3. In a pot, bring the fruit mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring continuously.
  4. Once boiling, add the fruit pectin and stir for another 2 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly for about 5 minutes.
  6. Pour into sterilized jars and seal, leaving a little space at the top.
  7. Allow to cool completely before refrigerating or gifting.

Notes

Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for even mixing. Sterilize jars before use.
