A family favorite dish that features tender chicken breasts stuffed with creamy Provolone cheese, fresh asparagus, and aromatic basil, all topped with a zesty lemon finish.

  • 4 slices Provolone cheese
  • 4 large basil leaves
  • Juice and zest of 1/2 lemon
  • 12 trimmed asparagus spears
  • Salt & pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Grill: Set your grill to medium-high heat (around 375°F).
  2. Pound the Chicken: Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness of about ½ inch.
  3. Layer the Cheese: Place a slice of Provolone cheese in the center of each chicken breast.
  4. Basil and Asparagus: Position one basil leaf atop the cheese, then add three asparagus spears aligned lengthwise.
  5. Roll ’em Up: Roll each chicken breast around the stuffing, securing it with a toothpick.
  6. Season and Oil: Brush with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  7. Lemon Love: Squeeze lemon juice over each roll and sprinkle with lemon zest.
  8. Grill Time: Grill for 15 minutes, turning every 5 minutes until done.
  9. Rest and Serve: Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.
