Basil Chimichurri

A vibrant and fresh twist on the classic chimichurri sauce, perfect for elevating grilled meats or roasted veggies.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh basil leaves
  • ¼ cup fresh oregano leaves
  • ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • ¼ cup red wine vinegar
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • ¼ tsp dried red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ½ tsp kosher salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Gather all your ingredients, rinsing the basil and oregano leaves and peeling the garlic.
  2. Combine all ingredients into a blender or food processor.
  3. Pulse the mixture for about 30 seconds until finely chopped, maintaining some texture.
  4. Taste the chimichurri and adjust seasonings if needed.
  5. Serve by transferring to a bowl and letting it sit for 10 minutes to let flavors meld.

Notes

Store leftovers in a glass jar in the fridge for up to 7 days or freeze for longer preservation.
