  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • Flecks of sea salt for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until golden brown and nutty, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Let the browned butter cool slightly.
  4. In a large bowl, mix brown butter with brown and granulated sugars until combined, about 2 minutes.
  5. Add eggs one at a time and mix in vanilla until smooth.
  6. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.
  7. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, gently stirring until just combined.
  8. Fold in chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  9. Using a cookie scoop, place dough onto lined baking sheets, spaced apart.
  10. Sprinkle each ball with a tiny amount of sea salt.
  11. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden around the edges.
  12. Let cool briefly before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For best results, let butter and eggs be at room temperature before starting. If the dough is too soft, chill in the fridge for 30 minutes before baking.
