Brown Butter Pecan Chocolate Chip Cookies

These cookies blend nutty brown butter, sweet chocolate, and crunchy pecans into a delightful treat perfect for any occasion.

  • 10 tbsp butter (room temperature)
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup dark brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp kosher salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup pecan halves (roughly chopped)
  • Flaky sea salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium skillet, brown the butter over medium heat until golden and nutty.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the browned butter, granulated sugar, and dark brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add vanilla and egg until just combined.
  5. Fold in flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips and pecans.
  7. Form ¼ cup dough balls and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For the best texture, make sure to chill the dough. Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
