Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh mushrooms (cremini or shiitake)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat until frothy and just starting to brown.
  2. Add the sliced mushrooms to the pan in a single layer and cook undisturbed for 3-4 minutes until golden, then stir and continue cooking for another 3-4 minutes until tender and browned.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Toss in the fresh thyme and parsley, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste, and cook until the herbs wilt slightly.
  5. Transfer the mushrooms to a serving dish and serve warm.

Notes

For added depth of flavor, consider adding a splash of white wine during cooking. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-5 days.
