Soft and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Deliciously soft and chewy chocolate chip cookies that evoke warm family memories and are perfect for any occasion.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare your baking sheets by lining them with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing in the vanilla extract until fully combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
  8. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft.
  10. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Dough can be refrigerated or frozen for later baking.
