  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1/2 cup whole milk, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup vanilla custard

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast in large mixing bowl
  2. Mix milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla in separate bowl
  3. Combine wet and dry ingredients, knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic
  4. Let dough rise in greased bowl for 1 hour until doubled
  5. Divide dough into 12 equal pieces and flatten into discs
  6. Fill each disc with chocolate chips and custard, seal edges
  7. Place filled balls in baking dish and let rise 30 minutes
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C)
  9. Brush tops with melted butter and bake 20-25 minutes until golden
  10. Cool in pan 5 minutes before serving

  • Do not overfill with custard to prevent leaking
  • Store in airtight container at room temperature for 3 days
