Ingredients

Scale
  • Fudge Base:
  • 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
  • Glaze:
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • Optional Toppings:
  • Flaky sea salt
  • Crushed peppermint candies
  • Dried raspberry pieces

Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang on sides.
  2. Make fudge: In a double boiler, melt chocolate chips, condensed milk, and butter over low heat, stirring until smooth (about 5 mins). Remove from heat.
  3. Finish base: Stir in vanilla, salt, and nuts (if using). Spread evenly in prepared pan.
  4. Add glaze: Melt dark chocolate with coconut oil (microwave in 30-sec intervals). Pour over fudge layer, tilting pan to cover completely.
  5. Decorate: Sprinkle with toppings while glaze is wet. Chill 3+ hours until set.
  6. Cut: Use hot knife to slice into 1-inch squares. Store between parchment layers.

Notes

  • For clean cuts: Score lines in glaze after 30 mins chilling
  • Variations: Swap nuts for pretzels, toffee bits, or marshmallows
  • Storage: Keeps 2 weeks refrigerated or 3 months frozen
  • Dietary swaps: Use dairy-free chocolate and coconut condensed milk
  • Gifting tip: Package in decorative tins with wax paper separators
