Christmas Eggnog Bread

A delightful holiday bread infused with the rich flavors of eggnog and aromatic spices, perfect for sharing with family and friends.

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup vegetable oil (or melted butter)
  • 1 cup eggnog (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tablespoons eggnog
  • Pinch of nutmeg (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk the egg, granulated sugar, brown sugar, oil, eggnog, and vanilla until blended.
  5. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. If using nuts, gently fold them into the batter.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 45–55 minutes.
  8. Let the loaf cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool.
  9. To prepare the glaze, mix powdered sugar with 2-3 tablespoons of eggnog and drizzle over the cooled bread.
  10. Dust lightly with nutmeg for garnish.

Notes

Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for better mixing results. This bread can be frozen for longer storage.
