  • 4 g (1 tsp) baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 170 g (1½ sticks / ¾ cup) unsalted butter, softened
  • 200 g (1 cup) granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp almond extract (optional)
  • 54 g (⅓ cup) Christmas jimmies sprinkles
  • 283 g (1¼ bricks / 10 oz) full-fat cream cheese, softened
  • 184 g (13 Tbsp) salted butter, softened
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ⅛ tsp salt
  • 150 g (1¼ cups) powdered sugar, sifted
  • 80 ml (⅓ cup) heavy cream, very cold
  • 24 g (2 Tbsp) Christmas sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. In a stand mixer, beat softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add in the egg, vanilla, and almond extract, mixing until combined.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in Christmas jimmies sprinkles.
  7. Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheets, flatten slightly, and bake for 9-11 minutes.
  8. Cool on sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  9. For frosting, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth, add vanilla and salt, then gradually incorporate powdered sugar, finishing with heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
  10. Pipe frosting onto cooled cookies and decorate with additional sprinkles.
