Cilantro Lime Sauce

A vibrant, creamy cilantro lime sauce with a perfect balance of tangy citrus and fresh herbs. This versatile sauce pairs perfectly with tacos, grilled meats, seafood, or as a salad dressing.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh cilantro leaves (packed)
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice (about 1 lime)
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cumin
  • 12 tablespoons water (to adjust consistency)

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients except water in a blender or food processor.
  2. Blend until completely smooth, scraping down the sides as needed.
  3. Add water 1 tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached.
  4. Taste and adjust seasoning, adding more lime juice or salt if needed.
  5. Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add ½ jalapeño (seeds removed) or ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper.
  • Store in refrigerator for up to 5 days.
