Cinnamon Sugar Snowball Cookies

Irresistibly sweet and melt-in-your-mouth cookies rolled in cinnamon sugar, perfect for holiday gatherings or cozy nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together softened butter and powdered sugar in a large mixing bowl using an electric mixer for 2-3 minutes until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in vanilla extract until well blended.
  4. Gradually add flour, salt, and ground cinnamon, mixing until a soft dough forms (1-2 minutes).
  5. If using, fold in chopped pecans or walnuts gently.
  6. Scoop and roll dough into 1-inch balls, placing them on baking sheets spaced about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 12-14 minutes until the bottoms are lightly golden.
  8. Let cookies cool for 5 minutes on baking sheet, then transfer to a wire rack.
  9. Combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl.
  10. While cookies are warm, roll them gently in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until fully coated.

Notes

Ensure butter is softened adequately and sift flour for lighter texture. Refrigerate dough if too soft for easier handling.
