Classic Waldorf Chicken Salad

A delightful amalgamation of tender chicken, crisp apples, crunchy walnuts, and juicy grapes, all enveloped in a creamy lemon dressing.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (473 ml) cooked and diced chicken
  • ½ cup (60 g) walnuts, chopped
  • 1 apple, cored and chopped
  • 1 cup (150 g) grapes, halved
  • ½ cup (60 g) celery, thinly sliced
  • Lettuce leaves, for serving
  • ½ cup (120 ml) mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the diced chicken, chopped apple, halved grapes, sliced celery, and chopped walnuts.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, lemon juice, salt, and pepper to create the dressing.
  3. Pour the dressing over the chicken and fruit mixture, gently folding to combine.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for 60-90 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. Serve the salad on a bed of lettuce leaves and garnish with additional walnuts if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding honey or garlic powder to the dressing. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
