Cream Cheese Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, beat together the cream cheese and butter until smooth.
  3. Add in the granulated sugar and brown sugar, mixing until well combined.
  4. Crack in the egg and add the vanilla extract; mix until just combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  8. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Ensure cream cheese and butter are at room temperature for better mixing. Cookies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
