  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup jam or jelly (for filling)
  • Powdered sugar (optional, for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Beat together the softened butter, cream cheese, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy—about 3 minutes.
  3. Add the vanilla extract and salt, mixing to combine.
  4. Gradually add the flour while mixing just until combined.
  5. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
  6. Use your thumb to create an indentation in the center of each dough ball.
  7. Fill each indentation with your preferred jam or jelly.
  8. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
