Creamed Cabbage and Ground Beef Casserole

A comforting, budget-friendly casserole that combines tender cabbage, seasoned ground beef, and a creamy sauce, topped with a golden breadcrumb crust for the perfect hearty meal.

1 pound Ground Beef

1 small head of Green Cabbage, chopped

1 medium Onion, diced

2 cloves of Garlic, minced

1 cup Heavy Cream

1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese

1 teaspoon Paprika

1 teaspoon Salt

1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper

2 tablespoons Olive Oil

1/4 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In large skillet, brown ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add onion and garlic; cook 3 minutes until softened. Add cabbage and cook 5 more minutes until slightly wilted.
  4. In bowl, mix soup, sour cream, milk, Worcestershire, and seasonings. Stir into beef-cabbage mixture.
  5. Transfer to baking dish. Top with cheese.
  6. Mix breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle over top.
  7. Bake uncovered 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, substitute 1/2 lb sausage for half the beef
  • Add 1 cup sliced mushrooms with the onions if desired
  • Can substitute cream of celery or chicken soup
  • Leftovers reheat well in microwave or oven
