Creamy Garlic Chicken

A comforting dish featuring tender chicken breasts in a rich, creamy garlic sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 8 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts by combining flour, salt, and black pepper in a shallow dish. Dredge each chicken breast in the mixture, coating both sides and shaking off excess flour.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the chicken breasts for 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  3. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
  4. In the same skillet, reduce heat slightly and melt unsalted butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Pour in chicken broth, scraping up the bits from the skillet. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  6. Stir in heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, dried thyme, and red pepper flakes if desired. Simmer for an additional 3-4 minutes.
  7. Add the cooked chicken back into the skillet, spooning sauce over it. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

Leftover chicken can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze for up to 2 months.
