Creamy Garlic Shrimp Pasta

A quick and easy delight, this Creamy Garlic Shrimp Pasta is a warm hug on a plate, enriched with succulent shrimp and a rich, garlic cream sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 8 oz (225g) fettuccine or spaghetti
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once it’s foamy, add minced garlic. Cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Pour the heavy cream into the skillet and stir in the Parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  5. Add the cooked pasta to the creamy sauce, tossing to coat thoroughly. If it’s too thick, gradually add reserved pasta water until it reaches your desired consistency.
  6. Return the shrimp to the skillet, squeeze in lemon juice, and toss gently to combine.
  7. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh shrimp for the best flavor and store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
