Creamy Seafood Bisque

A comforting and flavorful seafood bisque that combines fresh crab and shrimp with rich cream and a special touch of Cajun seasoning.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup crab meat
  • 1 cup shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • ½ cup onion, diced
  • ½ cup celery, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups seafood stock or broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and celery, cooking for about 3-4 minutes until tender. Stir in the garlic and cook for another minute.
  2. Pour in the seafood stock and bring to a gentle simmer for about 5 minutes.
  3. Fold in the crab meat and shrimp, cooking until shrimp turns pink and opaque, about 4-5 minutes.
  4. Reduce heat and stir in heavy cream and Cajun seasoning. Simmer gently for an additional 5 minutes, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Serve warm, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

Use the freshest seafood for the best flavor. For a lighter option, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or coconut cream.
