Crispy Deep-Fried Vegan Cauliflower Nuggets

Delicious crunchy cauliflower nuggets infused with garlic and paprika, perfect for snacking or as an appetizer.

  • 1 head of cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (or almond flour for gluten-free)
  • 1 cup plant-based milk (almond, soy, or oat)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko preferred)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cauliflower by cutting it into bite-sized florets.
  2. In one bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. In a second bowl, pour the plant-based milk.
  4. In a third bowl, place the breadcrumbs.
  5. Coat each cauliflower floret in the flour mixture, dip in the plant-based milk, and coat with breadcrumbs.
  6. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat until shimmering.
  7. Fry the cauliflower nuggets in batches for 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Remove nuggets with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  9. Serve with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

Fry in small batches for even cooking. To ensure crispiness, check oil temperature before frying.
