Slow-Cooker Creamy Mashed Potatoes

Delicious and creamy mashed potatoes made effortlessly in a slow cooker, perfect for family gatherings and potlucks.

  • 5 pounds of potatoes (preferably Russets)
  • 1 cup of butter (room temperature)
  • 1 cup of milk or cream (whole milk or heavy cream)
  • 1 cup of sour cream
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Peel and chop the potatoes into 1-2 inch cubes.
  2. Place the chopped potatoes in the Crockpot, layering them evenly.
  3. Add butter, milk or cream, and sour cream to the Crockpot.
  4. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder if using.
  5. Stir to combine everything gently.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until fork-tender.
  7. Mash the potatoes in the Crockpot until creamy and smooth, adding more milk or cream if desired.

Notes

For creamier potatoes, adjust the amount of milk or cream while mashing. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
