Crunchy Sweet Christmas Crack

A delightful mix of cereal, pretzels, and white chocolate that captures the sweet essence of the holidays with its crunchy texture.

  • 4 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 1 cup pretzels (preferably the knot shape)
  • 1 cup peanuts or mixed nuts (salted)
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips (Ghirardelli recommended)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the Rice Chex cereal, pretzels, and peanuts.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter, brown sugar, and salt together, stirring until combined and bubbling.
  4. Let the mixture boil for about 2-3 minutes without stirring, then remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Pour the butter mixture evenly over the cereal mixture and stir until well coated.
  6. Spread the mixture onto a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.
  9. Melt the white chocolate and drizzle it over the cooled mixture.
  10. Let it set completely before breaking into pieces for serving.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to two weeks. This treat can also be made ahead of time and is great for gifting.
