Easy Lemon Butter Linguine

A delightful and simple dish that combines the bright flavors of lemon and garlic with rich butter, creating a creamy and satisfying pasta experience.

  • 8 oz linguine or spaghetti
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup reserved pasta water
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Salt to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley or basil

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, add the linguine, and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30-60 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Stir in lemon zest and lemon juice, letting it bubble for about a minute. Add 1/4 cup of reserved pasta water.
  4. Add the drained linguine directly into the skillet and toss well to coat with the sauce, adding more reserved pasta water if necessary.
  5. Turn off the heat and stir in the grated parmesan cheese, seasoning with salt and pepper. Top with chopped herbs before serving.

Notes

Best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days in the fridge.
