Easy Homemade Pumpkin Spice Coffee Syrup

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup water and 1 cup granulated sugar. Place over medium heat and stir until the sugar dissolves (3-5 minutes).
  2. Add 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice. Stir to combine.
  3. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally until slightly thickened.
  4. Remove from heat and allow it to cool to room temperature.
  5. If desired, stir in 1 tablespoon maple syrup while warm.
  6. Strain the syrup into a clean bottle or jar to remove solids.
  7. Use as a sweetener in coffee or drizzle over desserts.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2-3 weeks. Make-ahead is recommended as flavors deepen over time.
