The Best French Bread Pizza

A nostalgic and customizable French bread pizza recipe that elevates comfort food to a whole new level.

  • 4 Tbsp unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 3/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/4 tsp Italian seasoning blend
  • 1 loaf French bread
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 2 cups shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 2/3 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1/4 cup grated or shredded Parmesan cheese
  • Sprinkle of pizza seasoning (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with foil.
  2. Melt the butter and mix with garlic powder, parsley, and Italian seasoning.
  3. Slice the loaf of French bread in half crosswise, then into quarters lengthwise.
  4. Brush the cut sides with garlic butter and bake for 6-8 minutes until lightly toasted.
  5. Remove from the oven and sprinkle mozzarella cheese over each piece; bake for an additional 4-5 minutes.
  6. For crispy pepperoni, microwave it for about 40 seconds while cheese melts.
  7. Spread pizza sauce evenly on the bread, then add remaining mozzarella, pepperoni, Parmesan, and optional seasonings.
  8. Return to the oven and bake for another 8-10 minutes until cheese is melted and slightly browned.
  9. If desired, drizzle with leftover garlic butter before serving hot.

Notes

Feel free to swap pepperoni for other toppings to suit your palate. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
