Delicious Garlic and Butter Flatbread

A quick and easy recipe for homemade Garlic and Butter Flatbread, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Mix dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir until evenly distributed (about 30 seconds).
  2. Add wet ingredients: Gradually add in the Greek yogurt and warm water, stirring with a wooden spoon or spatula until the dough comes together (about 1-2 minutes).
  3. Knead the dough: Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
  4. Rest the dough: Divide the dough into 6 equal portions, shape each piece into a ball, cover with a kitchen towel, and let rest for 15 minutes.
  5. Prepare garlic butter: In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter with olive oil. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  6. Roll out: Roll each dough ball into a circle about 1/4 inch thick. Use flour to prevent sticking.
  7. Cook the flatbreads: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook each flatbread for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown and bubbly.
  8. Finish with garlic butter: Brush the cooked flatbreads with the garlic butter mixture, and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
  9. Store leftovers: Keep any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze for up to 3 months.

Notes

For the best flavor, use fresh garlic and high-quality butter. Flatbreads can be stored at room temperature for up to 2 days.
