Irresistible Garlic Potato Gratin

  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated cheese (such as Gruyère or Parmesan)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs (such as thyme or parsley) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, overlapping slightly.
  3. Sprinkle half of the minced garlic, season with salt and pepper, and add half of the cheese.
  4. Repeat with the remaining potatoes, garlic, salt, pepper, and cheese.
  5. Pour the heavy cream evenly over the gratin.
  6. Dot the top with butter.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes until the top is golden brown and the potatoes are tender.
  9. Let it cool slightly before serving and garnish with fresh herbs.
