Scale
  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (blend of cheddar and mozzarella)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter (unsalted)
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Food coloring (green or purple)
  • Decorative toppings (pimento-stuffed olives, ghost-shaped crackers)

Instructions

  1. Gather your ingredients and prep everything within reach.
  2. Cook the elbow macaroni in salted boiling water until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour, garlic powder, and onion powder, cooking until slightly golden.

  5. Lower the heat and add in the shredded cheese, stirring until melted into a smooth sauce.
  6. Add food coloring to achieve the desired spooky hue.
  7. Toss in the cooked macaroni, stirring until well coated.
  8. Serve with decorative ghoulish toppings and enjoy!

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stove with a little milk to restore creaminess.
