  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter for glaze
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar for glaze
  • 1 tablespoon water for glaze
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for glaze
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar for glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together using a mixer until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, adding the vanilla extract and mixing well.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the butter mixture until a sticky dough forms.
  5. Using a cookie scoop, drop dough onto the baking sheets with 2 inches apart.
  6. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until the edges are golden and centers are slightly underbaked.
  7. Let cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  8. For the glaze, melt the butter in a saucepan, stir in granulated sugar and water until dissolved. Remove from heat and add vanilla, whisk in powdered sugar until smooth.
  9. Spoon the glaze over the warm cookies and allow to set before serving.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container for up to one week or freeze for three months.
