  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices of bread (sourdough, white, or rye)
  • 2 tablespoons butter (softened)
  • 4 slices of cheddar or American cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your skillet over medium heat.
  2. Brown the ground beef in the skillet, seasoning it with salt and pepper for 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  3. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  4. Assemble the sandwich with cheese, cooked ground beef, and another slice of cheese on the unbuttered side of the bread. Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side out.
  5. Cook the assembled sandwiches in the skillet until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
