Ingredients
Scale
3 ripe avocados, peeled and pitted
1 lime, juiced
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
1/2 medium onion, finely diced
2 Roma tomatoes, diced
1 small jalapeño, seeded and minced (optional)
2 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
Instructions
In a medium bowl, mash the avocados with a fork or potato masher until desired consistency (smooth or slightly chunky).
Stir in lime juice, salt, cumin, and cayenne pepper (if using).
Fold in the diced onion, tomatoes, jalapeño (if using), cilantro, and minced garlic.
Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt or lime juice if needed.
Serve immediately with tortilla chips or as a topping for tacos, burritos, or salads.
Notes
For extra creaminess, add 1-2 tbsp of sour cream or Greek yogurt.
To prevent browning, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the guacamole before refrigerating.
For a smoother texture, blend half the mixture and mix it back in.
Best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in the fridge for up to 1 day.
