Ham & Cheese Puff Pastry Christmas Trees

Delightful puff pastry treats shaped like Christmas trees, filled with savory ham and gooey cheese. Perfect for holiday gatherings!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 sheets of puff pastry (thawed)
  • 12 slices of deli ham (thinly sliced)
  • 12 slices of cheese (cheddar, gouda, Swiss, or mozzarella)
  • 24 wooden skewers
  • 4 tbsp melted butter
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • Sprinkle of sesame or poppy seeds (optional)
  • A thin layer of honey mustard or fig jam (optional)
  • Star-shaped cheese cutouts (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Assemble the layers by laying out one sheet of puff pastry and layering the cheese slices evenly on top, followed by the slices of ham. Place the second sheet of pastry on top and lightly press down.
  3. Using a sharp knife, cut the layered pastry into 1-inch wide strips, then fold each strip back and forth to resemble a Christmas tree shape, pinching the layers slightly to maintain form.
  4. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, minced garlic, and chopped parsley. Generously brush this mixture over the assembled trees.
  5. Place the trees on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  6. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

These trees are best enjoyed warm but can also be served at room temperature. You can customize the filling and omit the skewers if desired.
