Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey or plant-based option)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 8 cups iceberg lettuce, chopped
  • 1/2 cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup pickles, chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds (optional)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise (light)
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (for dressing)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add ground beef, breaking it apart, and cook until browned (7-10 minutes). Stir frequently.
  2. Drain excess fat and stir in Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  3. In a large bowl, combine chopped iceberg lettuce, sliced red onion, chopped pickles, and shredded cheddar cheese. Toss to mix.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, ketchup, white vinegar, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
  5. Add the beef mixture to the salad and toss gently. Drizzle with dressing and toss to coat. Top with sesame seeds, if using, and serve immediately.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Keep dressing separate until serving for best texture.
