- 1 angel food cake, prepared and cut into cubes
- 1 package (3.4 oz) instant cheesecake pudding mix
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 pack (30 ounces) cherry pie filling
- 1 container (8 ounces) whipped topping, chilled
- 1 tablespoon roasted almond slices (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the pudding mixture: Whisk together pudding mix, milk, sour cream (or Greek yogurt), and vanilla until smooth. Let it thicken for 5 minutes.
- Layer the cake: Arrange half of the angel food cake cubes in a baking dish.
- Spoon the cherries: Spread half of the cherry pie filling over the cake cubes.
- Add another cake layer: Place remaining cake cubes on top of the cherry layer.
- Spread the pudding: Pour the pudding mixture over the top layer of cake cubes.
- Top with whipped topping: Spoon the whipped topping over the pudding layer.
- Finish with cherries and chill: Add remaining cherry pie filling on top, cover, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Garnish before serving: Sprinkle roasted almond slices on top before slicing and serving.
