  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add the granulated sugar and mix until well combined, about another minute.
  4. Beat in the vanilla extract and egg, mixing until the batter is smooth.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt until well blended.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the cream cheese mixture, mixing until just combined.
  7. Drop tablespoons of dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Optionally, dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

For best results, ensure cream cheese and butter are at room temperature. You can freeze the dough for later use.
