Homemade Pesto

A vibrant and flavorful homemade pesto recipe, perfect for pasta, sandwiches, and more.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh basil leaves
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/3 cup pine nuts
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients; wash and dry basil leaves.
  2. In a food processor, combine basil leaves, pine nuts, and garlic. Pulse until finely chopped.
  3. Add Parmesan cheese and pulse until well mixed.
  4. With the processor running, slowly add olive oil until fully incorporated and smooth.
  5. Taste and season with salt and pepper.
  6. Serve immediately or store in an airtight jar in the fridge for up to a week.

Notes

Toast pine nuts for added flavor. Store pesto with a layer of olive oil on top to prevent browning.
