A delicious twist on the classic Reuben sandwich, this Homemade Reuben Bake features layers of flaky crescent rolls, savory corned beef, tangy sauerkraut, and melty Swiss cheese, topped with Thousand Island dressing.

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • ½ lb corned beef, sliced thin
  • 1 cup sauerkraut, drained
  • 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
  • ¼ cup Thousand Island dressing
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon caraway seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare an 8×8-inch baking dish by greasing it with cooking spray or butter.
  3. Roll out the crescent dough and divide into two equal parts.
  4. Layer half of the dough in the bottom and up the sides of the baking dish.
  5. Spread ¼ cup of Thousand Island dressing evenly over the dough, followed by yellow mustard.
  6. Add the sliced corned beef, then the drained sauerkraut.
  7. Top with shredded Swiss cheese.
  8. Seal the bake with the remaining dough, ensuring edges are sealed.
  9. Brush the top with a beaten egg and sprinkle with caraway seeds if using.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  11. Cool for 5-10 minutes before cutting into squares and serving warm.

Notes
