Honey Lemon Pepper Wings

Deliciously crispy chicken wings coated in a sweet and zesty honey lemon pepper sauce, perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 3 tablespoons potato starch
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • Oil spray (avocado oil recommended)
  • ½ cup honey
  • 1 lemon, zested and juiced
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 12 teaspoons ground pepper (to taste)
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
  2. Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the potato starch, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Toss the chicken wings in this mixture until they’re evenly coated.
  4. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly spray it with oil.
  5. Place the wings on the sheet pan in a single layer and spray the tops with more oil.
  6. Decrease the oven temperature to 425°F (218°C) and bake for 35-40 minutes, flipping halfway.
  7. While the wings bake, prepare the sauce by combining honey, lemon juice, lemon zest, minced garlic, butter, salt, and pepper in a small saucepan over medium heat. Simmer for 3-5 minutes.
  8. Transfer the baked wings to a bowl and pour the sauce over them, tossing to coat.
  9. Serve immediately, optionally reserving some sauce for dipping.

Notes

For extra crispy wings, consider air-drying them in the refrigerator before cooking.
