Irresistibly Moist Hot Chocolate Poke Cake

A decadent and cozy dessert that combines chocolate cake with warm hot chocolate infused throughout for a luscious, moist texture.

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup hot chocolate mix
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • Whipped cream (for topping)
  • Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Mix until smooth.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes. Check with a toothpick.
  4. Remove the cake from the oven, let it cool for about 10 minutes, and poke holes all over with a wooden spoon handle.
  5. Prepare the hot chocolate mix and pour it over the cake.
  6. Sprinkle mini marshmallows and chocolate chips over the top.
  7. Allow the cake to cool completely, then top with whipped cream and garnish.
  8. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. You can also freeze for up to 3 months.
