Kentucky Butter Cake

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare your Bundt pan by greasing and flouring it thoroughly.
  3. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
  6. Combine the dry ingredients with the butter mixture, alternating with buttermilk and vanilla.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared Bundt pan, smoothing the top.
  8. Bake for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  10. Drizzle with butter sauce if desired.

Notes

Store cake at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week; can be frozen for up to three months.
