Delightfully Chewy Maraschino Cherry Cookies

Sweet, chewy cookies filled with Maraschino cherries and white chocolate, perfect for any occasion.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup Maraschino cherries, chopped
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Cream together on medium speed for 2-3 minutes until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing just until incorporated.
  5. Gently fold in the chopped Maraschino cherries and white chocolate chips using a spatula until evenly distributed.
  6. Using a cookie scoop or rounded tablespoons, drop dollops of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are golden and centers look set.
  8. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For a chewier texture, bake slightly less than 10 minutes. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
