Heavenly Mascarpone Frosting

A silky, ethereal mascarpone frosting that transforms cakes, cupcakes, and pastries into gourmet delights with its rich texture and balanced sweetness.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream, very cold
  • 8 oz mascarpone cheese, cold
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar, sifted
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 to 2 tbsp honey or sweetened condensed milk (optional)

Instructions

  1. Chill your mixing bowl and beaters for 10 to 15 minutes.
  2. In the chilled bowl, beat the mascarpone cheese on low speed until smooth (about 30 seconds).
  3. Pour in the cold heavy whipping cream and mix slowly, gradually increasing to medium-high until soft peaks form (about 2 to 3 minutes).
  4. Add the sifted powdered sugar and vanilla extract (and honey or condensed milk if using) and continue to whip until fully mixed.
  5. Whip until stiff peaks form, checking frequently to avoid over-whipping (about 1 to 2 minutes).
  6. Use the frosting immediately or store it in the fridge for up to 24 hours, rewhipping before use.

Notes

Keep mascarpone and heavy cream cold for best results. This frosting can be made a day ahead and stored in an airtight container.
