Deliciously Simple Mongolian Ground Beef Noodles

A comforting favorite, these Mongolian Ground Beef Noodles combine tender ground beef, fresh broccoli, and soft egg noodles in a savory-sweet soy sauce mix.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the Noodles: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions, typically about 7-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. Sauté the Aromatics: In a large skillet over medium heat, add 1 tablespoon of sesame oil. Once hot, add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
  3. Brown the Beef: Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 5-6 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  4. Add Broccoli: Stir in the broccoli florets and cook for about 3-4 minutes until tender.
  5. Create the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce and brown sugar, then pour into the skillet with the beef and broccoli.
  6. Toss it All Together: Add the cooked noodles and green onions, tossing everything until evenly coated with the sauce. Cook for another minute to heat through.
  7. Season and Serve: Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Serve hot and enjoy!
